ALABAMA FREE FILE ALLIANCE

FREE TAX PREPARATION AND ELECTRONIC FILING FOR QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS

The following software developers offer FREE electronic filing for low income wage earners, senior citizens, students, or active duty military personnel. The software developers listed under the Alabama Free File Alliance offer free filing of federal and state returns if you meet certain requirements. The Federal Free File Alliance lists companies that will file your Federal return free but a fee might be charged for the Alabama return. If you don't qualify for the Free File Alliance offers, you can still file your Federal and Alabama return online by using the 2011 Alabama Approved PC Online Service Providers.

Taxpayers must complete the Alabama Form AL8453OL and retain the document with the W-2s in their tax records for a period of three years.  No documents are mailed to the Alabama Department of Revenue.
