Downloading Instructions for PDF files

• Requirements for downloading forms

  You MUST have a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0 or greater installed on your computer in order to view and print these forms. You can download a copy from the Adobe website. It is also necessary to use either Netscape 3.0 or Internet Explorer 3.0 or later versions in order to accurately view or download these forms. Earlier versions of these browsers, as well as others, do not have the "font catching" capabilities needed to properly use these forms.

• Problems with downloading forms

  If you are unable to view the PDF forms when you open them in your web browser, or received a colorspace error, try the suggestions below.

  1. Update to Current version of Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader

     To update Adobe Reader:
     
     a. Download the update from the Adobe Web site at www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html.
     
     To update Acrobat:
     
     a. Start Acrobat
     b. Choose Help > Update.
     c. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the update.
     or
     Download the update from the Adobe Web site at www.adobe.com/support/downloads/main.html.
     
     
     
  2. Save the PDF file onto your local hard drive

     The following directions will allow you to save the PDF file onto your local hard drive, where you may then use the Acrobat Viewer to view or print the files.

     Microsoft Internet Explorer

     1. Select Form.

     2. Right Click on selected form

     3. Select Save Target As from the Pop Up Menu

     Netscape and Opera

     1. Select Form.

     2. Right Click on selected form

     3. Select Save Link Target As from the Pop Up Menu

  3. Disable Web Browser Integration

a. In Acrobat or Adobe Reader, choose Edit > Preferences > Internet.
b. Deselect Display PDF in Browser, and then click OK.

Colorspace Error

If you are receiving a colorspace error when you try to view the PDF forms, you need to update your version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can go to the Adobe website and download a newer version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader. This error usually occurs in the 3.0 version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.

How to Configure Adobe Acrobat Reader

The Adobe Acrobat Reader can be setup as a "helper" application in your Internet browser so that it will automatically load and display the PDF file you choose. If you have trouble viewing the forms with Acrobat setup as a helper application make sure you have the latest version. Earlier versions of Adobe Acrobat Reader were not specifically designed to be used as a helper application within web browsers and you may experience problems. Alternately, Acrobat Reader can be setup as a separate, stand-alone application in which case you would download the PDF file you want into a directory of your choosing, exit your Internet browser and then load and run the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and/or print the PDF file.
