Motor vehicle certificates of title are currently issued in approximately 7 to 10 business days for title applications processed electronically through (ETAPS), compared to 6 to 8 weeks for title applications processed through traditional title processing procedures. Title applications completed through ETAPS begin with an "E" and follow with "9" numeric characters (i.e. E000123456).

Note: These time periods are from the date the application and supporting documents are received in this office. Alabama law allows a designated agent ten days to submit a title application to the Department for processing.
