The governing body of the City of Athens has adopted a resolution discontinuing the services rendered by the Alabama Department of Revenue in collecting the sales/use and rental/lease taxes for the city. This resolution is effective at 12:00 midnight June 30, 2001. Therefore, your last City of Athens sales/use and rental/lease tax return filed with the Alabama Department of Revenue is for the month of June 2001. The June return is due on or before July 20, 2001.
Effective with your sales/use and rental/lease taxes for July 2001, which is due on or before August 20, 2001, please remit said taxes to:
