BAKER HILL

TO: ALL PERSONS, FIRMS, AND CORPORATIONS making sales at retail and purchasing tangible personal property for use, storage, or other consumption in the Town of Baker Hill, Alabama and its police jurisdiction (Barbour County).

The governing body of the Town of Baker Hill has adopted an Ordinance decreasing the automotive rate of sales tax from 2 percent to 1/2 of 1 percent. The new rate of tax applies to the net difference paid for all automotive vehicles, truck trailers, semitrailers, and house trailers. This change becomes effective July 1, 1998.

The ordinance also decreased the rate of use tax on the storage, use or other consumption of automotive vehicles, truck trailers, semi-trailers, and house trailers to be the same as the sales tax rate (reduced from 2 percent to 1/2 of 1 percent).

New forms to be used in reporting the tax will be mailed to you before August 1, 1998, so that you can mail your report for the month of July 1998, to this office on or before August 20, 1998.
