Pursuant to the provisions of Section 6 of Ordinance No. 5-18-98 (c), the Chambers County Commission by resolution has terminated effective May 31, 1999 the additional 1/2 of 1% county sales and use tax levied July 1, 1998.

Therefore, the 1/2 of 1% Chambers County general rate tax, and the 1/4 of 1% tax levied on automotive vehicles, manufacturing machinery, and farm machinery that you have been remitting through the Alabama Department of Revenue will terminate at 12:00 midnight May 31, 1999. Your last Chambers County sales and use tax return to be filed with this office will be for the period ending May 31, 1999. The return and remittance will be due on or before June 20, 1999.
