COVINGTON COUNTY
| TO: | ALL PERSONS, FIRMS, OR CORPORATIONS engaged in Covington County in the business of renting or furnishing any room or rooms, lodgings or accommodations to transients. |
Pursuant to the provisions of Act No. 98-658, 1998 Regular Session,
Covington County adopted a resolution which levies a 2 percent lodgings
tax in Covington County and which requires the Alabama
Department of Revenue to collect the tax for the County.
The effective date of the tax is August 1, 1998.
Your first report for the month of August 1998 will be due on or before September
20, 1998.
Forms for use in reporting the Covington County Lodgings Tax will be mailed to you by
September 1, 1998. A separate report and remittance in payment of the Covington County Tax
are to be mailed to this office in the same manner as your State Lodgings Tax report.
