TO: ALL PERSONS, FIRMS, AND CORPORATIONS engaged in the business of leasing or renting tangible personal property in the City of Oxford, Alabama, and its police jurisdiction (located in Calhoun County).

On June 15, 2002 the governing body of the City of Oxford adopted Ordinance No. 0-02-10 decreasing the city's automotive rental tax rate from 4% to 2%. The new rate of tax applies to the leasing or rental of all automotive vehicles, truck trailers, semi-trailers, and house trailers. The decreased automotive rate of rental tax is effective August 1, 2002.

You can now prepare, file and pay your state sales tax and local sales, use, lodgings, and rental taxes online! Simply go to our Web site at: www.ador.state.al.us/salestax/efiling.html, select an ERO (Electronic Return Originator) and follow the instructions. If you choose to file and pay electronically, the City of Oxford's sales, use and rental taxes are included on the electronic local tax return. Simply enter the gross receipts or sales and deductions, and all calculations will be done automatically for you. Otherwise, the City of Oxford sales, use or rental tax must be remitted on your letter size Alabama Department of Revenue City and County Tax Return, and mailed to the address at the top of the return.
