TO: ALL PERSONS, FIRMS, AND CORPORATIONS making sales at retail and purchasing tangible personal property for use, storage or other consumption, or engaged in the business of leasing or renting tangible personal property in the police jurisdiction of the City of Oxford, Alabama (located in Calhoun County).

On December 10, 2002, the governing body of the City of Oxford adopted Ordinance No. 0-02-17 repealing the sales, use and rental taxes levied in the police jurisdiction of the city. This ordinance becomes effective at 12:00 midnight, January 31, 2003.

This ordinance in no way affects the sales, use or rental tax levied inside the corporate limits of the city. It only affects those who make sales at retail and purchase tangible personal property for use, storage or other consumption, or those who lease or rent tangible personal property outside the city limits of Oxford but within the city’s police jurisdiction
