On November 18, 2002, the governing body of the City of Selma adopted Ordinance No. 025-02/03, increasing the general and linen rates of the City of Selma’s rental tax. The increased rates of rental tax are effective March 1, 2003, as follows:

If rentals of tangible personal property are made to consumers outside the corporate limits of the City of Selma but within the police jurisdiction, the rates of tax are one-half the new rates shown above.

Simply go to our Web site at: www.ador.state.al.us/salestax/efiling.html, and follow the instructions. If you choose to file and pay electronically, the City of Selma’s rental tax is included on the electronic local tax return. Simply enter the gross receipts, and all calculations will be done automatically for you. Otherwise, the City of Selma rental tax must be remitted on your letter size Alabama Department of Revenue City and County Tax Return, and mailed to the address at the top of the return.
