The governing body of Sumter County has adopted a resolution discontinuing the services rendered by the Alabama Department of Revenue in collecting the lodgings taxes for the county. This resolution is effective at 12:00 midnight December 31, 2001. Therefore, your last Sumter County lodgings tax returns filed with the Alabama Department of Revenue will be for the month of December 2001. The return for December 2001 is due on or before January 20, 2002.
Your Sumter lodgings taxes for January 2002, which are due on or before February 20, 2002, should be remitted to:

On or before January 20, 2002, Sumter County will provide you with new forms to be used in filing the county returns.
