During the State of Alabama’s Second Special Session of the 2003 Legislature, Act Number 2003-483 was passed. According to Act No. 2003-483, the Underground and Aboveground Storage Tank Trust Fund charge fee will be determined by the Alabama Environmental Management Commission upon recommendation of the Alabama Underground and Aboveground Storage Tank Trust Fund Management Board on an annual basis and shall not be greater than $0.01 per gallon nor less than $0.003 per gallon.

Effective January 1, 2004, the fee for each gallon of motor fuels first withdrawn from bulk in this state or delivered into this state shall be set at $0.005 per gallon. The January 2004 return is due no later than February 20, 2004.
