$15 – $890, depending on the type of vehicle being registered

  • Additional fees:
    • $50 for pre-numbered or personalized plate
    • $5 when metal plate is issued
  • The net proceeds of the $50 are distributed to the Central Alabama Community Foundation (Energy Institute of Alabama Foundation) to be used to address a wide variety of needs and opportunities, supporting 501(c)(3) programs and projects in education, health, and human services.
