Effective January 1, 2024, the 9-1-1 service charge on each prepaid transaction will increase to $2.23. On October 1, 2023, the Alabama 9-1-1 Board adopted the flat rate of $2.23 as the rate for the 9-1-1 service charge in Alabama.
This rate increase will be reflected on the January 2024 tax return, which is due on February 20, 2024.
