NOTE: ALDOR has relocated our Nexus Questionnaire and Voluntary Disclosure Agreement (VDA) processes to My Alabama Taxes (https://myalabamataxes.alabama.gov.)
MONTGOMERY, Sept. 18, 2018 – The Alabama Department of Revenue is upgrading its Voluntary Disclosure Agreement (VDA) process and nexus questionnaire. The Voluntary Disclosure Program is offered as a service to business taxpayers who want to become compliant with the tax laws of Alabama and limit their exposure for retroactive tax liability and penalties. The questionnaire is designed to allow business taxpayers to provide information to the department for use in determining whether the taxpayer has a tax filing obligation with the state.
Beginning Oct. 1, the VDA process and the nexus questionnaire will be managed through an online system. The month of October will be a transition period during which the department will accept both manual and electronic applications and questionnaires. However, during this transition period we strongly encourage applicants to submit applications and questionnaires through the online system. Because the systems are automated, applications and questionnaires can be processed more quickly than those submitted manually. Beginning Nov. 1, manual applications and questionnaires will not be accepted.
Beginning Oct. 1, the VDA online system will be available at VDA.revenue.alabama.gov.*
Beginning Oct. 1, the nexus questionnaire will be available at nexus.revenue.alabama.gov.*
(* These processes have moved to My Alabama Taxes – see note above.)
