Officials and revenue employees from all counties and municipalities invited to attend
MONTGOMERY, Sept. 18, 2019 – The Alabama Department of Revenue (ADOR) will host a series of outreach meetings with local government officials to provide updates on the implementation of legislative initiatives that affect all local taxing authorities. ADOR first held similar meetings in 2018, and feedback was positive.
“We are so pleased that this outreach was helpful to local government officials last year, and we’re excited to again reach out to our friends across the state to help provide some clarity on the most recent tax-related legislation,” said Revenue Commissioner Vernon Barnett.
The meetings will be held in October in Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery, Dothan and Mobile. Officials and revenue employees from all counties and municipalities are invited to attend and will benefit from the information presented on a range of topics, including the roll out of the Single Point Filing and Payment System for Local Motor Fuel Tax, the Wholesale to Retail Accountability Program (WRAP), and the Simplified Sellers Use Tax (SSUT).
Registration is not required, but to ensure adequate space at meeting locations please provide the name of city or county, number of persons attending, and meeting location attending to Arleen Alexander at 334-242-1380 or taxpolicy@revenue.alabama.gov.
