MEMORANDUM 2017-016
TO: License Plate Issuing Officials
SUBJECT: New Alabama Title System (ALTS) Implementation
Beginning November 1, 2017, the Motor Vehicle Division will begin implementation of the new Alabama Title System (ALTS) to replace the Electronic Title Application System (ETAPS).  ETAPS will continue to be used to complete title applications that were started prior to ALTS implementation and will eventually be phased out. ETAPS data will continue to available for queries and will also be available through ALTS. The Motor Vehicle Division will be contacting all licensing officials prior to November 1, 2017, to schedule ALTS migration and offer training/assistance.
The ALTS Migration Manual is available on the MVTRIP site and will provide information regarding how to access the new system and utilize certain features.
