MEMORANDUM 2021-008

TO: License Plate Issuing Officials
SUBJECT: New License Plates for Issuance Beginning September 1, 2021

Beginning September 1, 2021, there will be a new generic distinctive license plate for United Ability, and there will also be a new distinctive plate for Help End Epilepsy. A shipment of plates was ordered for each county based on the pre commitment report numbers for each county. Please note personalized and pre-numbered plates may be ordered on the Plate Reservation and Ordering System (PROS) and additional bulk orders for pre-numbered plates may be ordered using the Alabama Inventory Management System (AIMS) beginning September 1, 2021.

The tag numbering schemes for the license plates may be found on the Motor Vehicle Division website at https://revenue.alabama.gov/motor-vehicle/ under “Reference & Statistics” then “Registration File Information.”
