MEMORANDUM 2022-003

TO: License Plate Issuing Officials
SUBJECT: Legislative Act Effective April 4, 2022

Legislative Act 2022-206 amends §40-12-248, Code of Ala. 1975, to provide that the forest products license plates would now be allowed on trucks or truck tractors owned and used by persons for activities reasonably related to the harvesting and processing of forest products (e.g. to allow for the transport of forest products and forest product harvesting equipment). These plates were previously limited to trucks to transport forest products from the point of severance to a sawmill, to a papermill, or to a concentration yard.
