According to Act Number 2019-231, which went into law effective immediately on May 23, 2019, an excise and privilege tax of five dollars ($5) per ton is levied on every producer severing graphite in Coosa County. Please find enclosed the Coosa County Graphite Severance Tax Report. The tax is due by the 20th of each month covering the operations for the previous month. The May 2019 report is due no later than June 20, 2019, and should only include graphite tonnage severed from May 23 through May 31.
