Motor vehicle dealers have until October 31, 2022, to renew their dealer regulatory license for the 2023 licensing year. Motor vehicle dealers, including auto dismantlers and parts recyclers, can login and renew their license at mvlicense.mvtrip.alabama.gov.
The license year begins October 1, 2022. Licenses renewed after October 31, 2022, will be assessed a penalty of 15 percent of the amount of the license plus interest.

Don’t Forget Your County Privilege License
Following the issuance of the dealer regulatory license, a privilege license should be obtained from your county licensing office.
Don’t Forget To Order Your License Plates
Dealer and manufacturer license plates for the 2023 license year can be requested through the motor vehicle license portal after obtaining both the state regulatory and county privilege license. All dealer plates ordered prior to October 1, 2022, will expire on November 30, 2022.
