The Alabama Department of Revenue provides tax collection and administrative services for local governments throughout the state. The local tax liaisons are ALDOR employees fully dedicated to providing assistance to local governments regarding issues or questions relating to the collection and administration of their local taxes including hands-on training in the use of local tax distribution reports and assistance with changes in tax laws and policies. The local tax liaisons also provide information on various topics through presentations and briefings to county commission and municipal council meetings, formal classroom instruction, as well as individual training for local elected officials, city and county employees, accountants, attorneys, and taxpayers.
