Vehicle Titling Unavailable Dec. 8-10

MONTGOMERY – As the Alabama Department of Revenue (ALDOR) transitions to a new motor vehicle and vessel software system, ALVIN (Alabama Vehicle Information Network), some services will be temporarily unavailable. The conversion will begin on December 8, and it is anticipated that systems may be down December 8-10.

All systems should up and running statewide on Monday, December 11, when ALVIN is in place and fully operational.

Some local licensing offices may be closed on December 8. Please check with local offices before visiting in-person.

ALDOR is working to make the transition as smooth as possible for local licensing officials, motor vehicle dealers, designated agents, and the public, but it is reasonable to expect that there may be delays when the system goes live on December 11. We ask for patience and understanding as everyone continues to learn and adapt to the new system.

ALDOR appreciates this opportunity to work with local licensing officials, motor vehicle dealers, and designated agents to provide an improved experience that will better serve the people of Alabama.
